Our affiliated advisors have access to an extensive range of traditional and non-traditional investment products, annuities, insurance solutions, structured products, fee-based solutions from best-in-be-breed providers and beyond.
We pride ourselves on backing a really robust offering with access to a team of product marketing experts at IFG that are here to help with all of our advisor needs related to those products and solutions. So we don’ t just make the products available and hope advisors navigate to and understand the best ones for them. We have people on staff to help them do that if that’ s something they need.
We also have and provide targeted practice management consulting services, as well as services to help our affiliated advisors find additional capacity / efficiency in their businesses. For instance, we have a very popular virtual assistant program that a lot of our advisors avail themselves up to find capacity locally to spend more time with clients.
On the tech side, we are continuously investing in and exploring technology that blends seamlessly into advisors practices. And we’ re looking to help them automate the routine stuff, streamline compliance burdens that we all deal with every day, and also looking for technology that can ultimately help them enhance the relationship that they have with their end clients.
Finally, we have a proprietary advisor workstation called Gateway Plus that is core and central to our business, and provides access to client and business information that is integrated with a wide range of industry leading technologies, Redtail, DocuSign, Laser App, Albridge, and a lot more. So we think on the whole, we’ ve got quite a broad array of solutions, services and technology that is focused on quality and choice as opposed to pure quantity of selection.
FA: Are there specific cities or regions you’ re targeting as growth opportunities for IFG’ s next phase of expansion?
Keefe: We currently enjoy a pretty broad national presence. We have
offices in 41 states and we see significant opportunities in regions where the overall U. S. is experiencing rapid demographic growth and wealth creation. So think of places like Texas, Florida, the southeast, and even certain fast growing areas in the Midwest and Pacific Northwest. We’ re focused on these regions, not just because of their economic potential, but also because we’ re seeing increasing demand among advisors in these areas of the country for the kind of authentic independence and personalized support we provide. So, a bit of this is looking at the macro factors out there, and some of that is also driven by how much inbound interest we’ re getting from those areas of the country that want to know more about IFG.
FA: Looking ahead, what strategic goals is IFG focused on achieving in the coming years?
Keefe: Looking ahead, IFG’ s goals really center around deepening our commitment to advisor growth and helping them grow as well as enhancing our operational and technology platform to help expand our presence nationwide.
We’ re focused on attracting high caliber entrepreneurial advisors who align with this vision of authentic independence. At the same time, we’ re continuing to modernize and streamline our tech and our support services. We are also investing a lot more in initiatives that promote advisor organic growth and innovation at the local level
I think our unique culture as a business, our robust platform that we offer affiliated advisors, and our clear commitment to advisor success give us a pretty distinct competitive advantage in an industry that is undergoing considerable consolidation, change, and I would argue corporate sameness.
In the end, we do want IFG to grow, but just not the sake of growth. And that is really because we don’ t need to be or want to be the biggest, we want to be the best for those advisors that affiliate with us. We’ re excited to partner with advisors that share our vision and our ambition for sustained and meaningful growth.
